For more than two decades, The Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation has invited players to take their place in the struggle for Middle-earth. Designed by Reiner Knizia and first released in 2002, the game distills the Fellowship’s perilous journey into a tense contest of hidden characters, clever card play, bluffing, and deduction. One player guides the Fellowship toward Mordor, while the other commands the forces of Sauron in pursuit of the Ring-bearer.

The 2005 Deluxe Edition broadened that original design with variant characters and Special Cards, creating new possibilities while preserving the elegance that made the game so memorable.

Now, Ghost Galaxy has brought the full history of The Confrontation together in an all-new Ultimate Edition. Refreshed artwork and graphic design, newly designed character stands, updated rules, returning content from earlier editions, and brand-new Special Cards give both longtime players and newcomers more ways to experience this beloved two-player classic.
